YOU'LL FIGURE IT OUT

This ongoing project is documenting the complexities of modern child rearing and the disproportionate pressure we put on mothers. Artist Ellie Kay uses vases as mothers, flowers as children, plus light, color, and details to tell the story of her journey into motherhood. Utilizing profound imagery she asks us to reflect on what new mothers deserve and who is responsible for providing it. Alongside portraits and stories of motherhood from others we begin to see the similarities even amongst radically different experiences.
